AEP Texas Contributions

Dear Friends:

This past year was a tough one for many who call Texas home. The recession hit everyone to one extent or another. In good times and in bad, AEP Texas has worked diligently to be a good partner with the hundreds of communities we serve across some 100,000 square miles in south and west Texas. Over 2,000 AEP employees live and work in those many communities and they strive every day to provide the highest quality electric service possible for all of our customers.

As partners and neighbors in our many communities, AEP Texas also plays an active role in helping to improve the quality of life where we all live. This commitment to community service is a defining characteristic of our company and its employees.

Again in 2009, AEP Texas contributed nearly $1 million to various non-profit agencies and organizations. In addition, many of our employees are involved in a variety of civic organizations and volunteer projects. The link below provides a listing of the various organizations throughout Texas that received at least $1,000 in contributions in 2009.

As part of one of the largest electric utilities in the United States, we have been fortunate over the years to assist several of our communities in gaining funding in the form of grants from the AEP Foundation. Separately, the Laredo Municipal Housing Corporation was the recipient of nearly $750,000 from the AEP Texas Low Income Weatherization Program to weatherize 146 housing units of the Jose Flores Housing Complex.

Powerful connections come not only from electric wires, but also they come from people, companies and communities working in partnership to build a brighter future for everyone.

Sincerely,

Pablo Vegas
President and COO
