Energy education
AEP believes energy education is vital to an informed energy future in the United States and around the world. The National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project is a national network of students, teachers, community, industry and government leaders committed to developing life-long learners capable of making wise energy decisions. AEP supports NEED nationally and locally where resources are provided for student-led projects and teacher/student workshops. To learn more, including how education is energizing your state, visit the one of the following:

In Ohio, AEP, OEP and the Ohio Environmental Education Fund have sponsored a popular, innovative program that uses an Energy Bike to link energy and energy efficiency education with the state science curriculum through professional development for educators and a hands-on demonstration unit in more than 60 school districts. Material resources
Instructional and educational resources that provide information on energy, electricity, safety, environment and economics for educators, students and the general public are available. These resources may be used to supplement classroom text books for pre-K through high school and adult.

Educators and customers living or working in the AEP service territory may request a list of free information resources. Be sure to include your name and a complete home or school address to which we can mail information.
