Course description |
An intensive program to help teachers create engaging learning experiences in which
young learners explore science in their world. Fun activities will fuel children's
fascination and wonder, and develop a foundation for later success in K-12 science
learning. AEP's safety spokesbug, Louie the Lightning Bug, will be featured in the
course. Participants will: experience and discuss hands-on physical science activities
involving magnetism, electricity, electrical safety, forces and motion, gravity,
temperature and kitchen science; discuss science instruction strategies that research
indicates are best suited to early learners; increase confidence in leading science
learning activities; and receive instructional kits that contain activities presented
during the workshop, a variety of resource books, and materials needed to conduct
the experiences back in the classroom. |

Credits |
2 hours college credit to those who enroll at Columbus State. Participants will
be reimbursed the cost of tuition upon successful completion of course. Please indicate
interest in college credit on application form to facilitate enrollment. |

None - tuition for optional college credit will be reimbursed upon successful completion
