An Introductory Course in Scientific Inquiry

Course description A three-day, hands-on, minds-on workshop designed to help teachers find practical strategies for science classrooms and competitions. Based upon the book Students and Research and taught by co-author Dr. Ronald N. Giese, this workshop will make it easier for teachers to help students develop the skills they need to successfully conduct, analyze and report an experiment. The workshop will also focus on authentic assessment. Participants will receive instructional materials to help teach experimental design; the book, Students and Research, by Cothron, Giese and Rezba; and practical strategies for conducting experimental research, authentic assessment and working with parents.
Who K-12 teachers in Fayetteville and five neighboring school districts.
When Classroom sessions will be approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
