Electricity can be one of the most productive forces on earth. It can also be one of the most deadly. At AEP, we want all of our customers and employees to work with electricity in a safe manner.
That’s why our employees receive rigorous safety training, which is continuously reinforced through job safety briefings, careful review of work procedures, hazards and risks, and information sharing to ensure we take preventive actions before something happens. Our goal is simple: We want every one of our employees to go home after work as healthy as they were when they arrived.
For our customers, AEP works hard to communicate the importance of being safe around electricity, through child safety education programs and advertisements reminding customers how they can be safe around electricity, and a broad library of safety information on each of our customer Web sites.
