Southwestern Electric Power Company Contributions

Dear SWEPCO Friends,

One of my favorite things to do is get to know the people who live in the communities we serve.  We at SWEPCO appreciate the opportunity to serve you, and whether it’s in Texas, Louisiana or Arkansas, SWEPCO works hard to be a good steward.

In 2011, SWEPCO investors and shareholders contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to support a variety of organizations, agencies and efforts. Whether it was feeding the hungry, providing medical care and equipment to those in need or educating our youth, the organizations to which SWEPCO contributed money have done marvelous things.  In this report, you will see a list of some of the agencies supported by SWEPCO and its parent company, American Electric Power.

One of the beneficiaries last year was the Lighthouse, a program run by Volunteers of America of North Louisiana. The Lighthouse provides after school and summer programs where students get tutoring help and participate in a variety of activities that emphasize character and service. Most of the students at the Lighthouse stay in school, which has lowered school drop-out rates.

Last year brought many challenges to the electric utility industry and the states we serve.  As we work through all of these issues, SWEPCO will remain focused on providing the safest, most reliable power that we can, while giving back to the communities we serve.

Sincerely,

Venita McCellon-Allen
