Electricity is a powerful force that our line workers encounter. We want the public—especially children—to be as safe around electricity as our employees. In support of public safety education Indiana Michigan Power presents live wire safety demonstrations to schoolchildren in Watervliet, Michigan.

Funds from the AEP Foundation on behalf of Appalachian Power Company will serve a double purpose for Princeton (WV) Rescue Squad, Inc. – building a state-of the-art space to train EMTs and paramedics that can also be used as a disaster relief center should the need arise.

In Columbus, Ohio, our charitable Foundation is helping the Columbus Police Foundation with a gift to create the Columbus Police Museum and Community Education Center. The goal is to inspire young visitors to join law enforcement and serve as a bridge to all neighborhoods in the community.

Our employees take a hands-on approach when it comes to supporting local chapters of national organizations like the American Red Cross by installing smoke alarms in the homes of the elderly and low-income residents. We also deliver meals to seniors and the home-bound and raise funds for countless other organizations like the United Way and the Salvation Army.
