Indiana Michigan Power Contributions
Indiana Michigan Power is your hometown energy provider, dedicated to being a good neighbor in the communities we serve – the same places our employees are happy to call home. I&M and our employees value the vibrant communities where I&M provides safe, reliable and affordable energy.
Just as our employees invest in their hometowns with monetary donations and volunteering their time, I&M is proud to give back to the communities we serve in Indiana and Michigan. I&M supports charitable agencies that serve educational and basic living needs, as well as community, arts and environmental organizations that enhance quality of life. We enthusiastically support economic development agencies that help sustain and grow communities.
For 2017, Indiana Michigan Power provided more than $1.75 million in support for charitable nonprofit and economic development organizations and initiatives, including more than $445,000 donated in 2017 and more than $1.3 million contributed in late 2016 and earmarked for use in 2017.
In addition, the American Electric Power Foundation contributed more than $910,000 to nonprofit agencies in our service territory.
I&M and our employees contribute to our communities in many ways, such as teaching children in the Boys & Girls Club in Fort Wayne about electricity, participating in economic development activities in Muncie, providing a large donation for a science center in Elkhart and demonstrating safety around electricity to students in Watervliet, Mich.
These are just a few of many activities supported by I&M. This report lists a number of agencies in cities, towns and counties across Indiana and southwest Michigan that received contributions from Indiana Michigan Power and the American Electric Power Foundation to help build communities.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and to support the people and organizations that make our communities great places to live.
