Southwestern Electric Power Company Contributions

Dear SWEPCO Communities:

For more than 100 years, SWEPCO has provided affordable and reliable electric service to communities in Arkansas, Louisiana or Texas. One way we show our appreciation for customers is through community service and partnerships.

In 2016, SWEPCO investors and shareholders supported hundreds of organizations, agencies and causes. Whether it was helping food banks feed the hungry, providing scholarships for local students, or bringing the performing arts to families, SWEPCO was proud to contribute financial support to organizations that are doing incredible work.

This report includes a list of some of the agencies that received contributions from SWEPCO and the American Electric Power Foundation.

The Howard County Children’s Center was one of our beneficiaries last year. The center in Nashville, Arkansas, got its start by providing services to 12 children and adults with developmental disabilities. More than 40 years later, the program has grown to include a day care and preschool where children with disabilities play and learn side-by-side with typically developing children, group homes where adults with development disabilities learn to become self-sufficient as well as work training and programs.

Agencies and non-profits like the Howard County Children’s Center do so much to help our citizens. At SWEPCO, supporting the neighborhoods and communities where we live and work are a top priority. We may be a power company, but our true power in our communities comes from our people.
