Southwestern Electric Power Company Contributions

Dear SWEPCO customers,

Providing power is our priority, and we work every day to make sure communities in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas receive the safest, most reliable and affordable energy service. One way we show our appreciation for customers is through community service and partnerships.

Hundreds of SWEPCO employees generously share their knowledge, time and effort to support many different organizations, and in 2017, SWEPCO investors and shareholders supported hundreds of organizations, agencies and causes. Whether it was providing the opportunity for thousands of students to enroll in swim lessons, sparking the curiosity of high school students through robotics programming, or supporting programs for those impacted by Alzheimer’s, SWEPCO was proud to contribute financial support to organizations that are doing incredible work.

This report includes a list of some of the agencies that received contributions from SWEPCO and our parent company, American Electric Power.

The YMCA of Northwest Louisiana was one of our beneficiaries in 2017. The YMCA is very community centered, listening and responding to those in the community, connecting people of all ages and backgrounds to bridge the gaps in community needs. One of the programs provided by the YMCA is the “Swim For Life” program that provided the opportunity for every 2nd grader enrolled in Caddo Parish Public Schools to participate in a four-day water safety and swim survival skills program.

Agencies and non-profits like the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana do so much to help our citizens. At SWEPCO, supporting the neighborhoods and communities where we live and work are a top priority. We may be a power company, but our true power in our communities comes from our people.

Sincerely,

Malcolm Smoak
Interim President and COO
