The winner of the first AEP Green Film Festival, first announced during Sustainability
Awareness Week, Oct. 12-16, is Sara Hunyadi of Corporate Communications, winning
the grand prize of an Apple iPod nano and the first AEP Energy Ambassador Award.
In the contest, employees were invited to show how they were reducing their carbon
footprints, or how they were encouraging others to be more energy efficient, in
their own 90-second video.
In the winning video, "Husband vs. Wife," an environmentally conscious wife tries
to convince her husband to go green, echoing the style of the popular PC vs. Macintosh
commercials.
Other winners were:
- People's Choice Award, "Brooke Goes Green!", by Mark Robinson, Central Transfer
Shop, Corpus Christi, Texas;
- Best Energy Savings Idea at Home, "Living the Green Life With the Moores," by Linda
Moore, Business Operations, Charleston, W.Va.;
- Best Energy Savings Idea at Work, "PAG Fluid at Northeastern Station," David Wilkes
and James Spurgeon, Northeastern Power Station, Oologah, Okla.;
- Greatest Impact, "An Employee Reduces His Carbon Footprint," by Patrick J. O'Brien,
Strategic & Economic Analysis, Columbus.
A team of judges chose winners based on employee votes, originality and creativity.
Thank you to all contest participants!
