ERCOT Board Recommends Approval of ETT Proposed Transmission Line from Laredo into Rio Grande Valley

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas Board of Directors today endorsed and deemed "critical to reliability" a 345-kilovolt transmission project proposed by Electric Transmission Texas LLC from the Laredo area into the Lower Rio Grande Valley. ETT is a joint venture between subsidiaries of American Electric Power and MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company.

AEP Ohio Reaches Agreement With Wide Range Of Stakeholders On ESP, Capacity And Merger Cases
Agreement provides transition to a competitive market; encourages economic development, asset investment

AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) has reached a settlement agreement with a majority of parties involved in several cases pending before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), including the company's Electric Security Plan (ESP) proposal. The agreement gives AEP the authority to merge its two operating companies, Columbus Southern Power (CSP) and Ohio Power (OPCo), into one company. It also calls for the company to corporately separate its Ohio generation assets and complete the transition to a competitive generation market by mid-2015.

AEP Subsidiary Public Service Company Of Oklahoma To Redeem Senior Notes

Public Service Company of Oklahoma, a public utility subsidiary of American Electric Power, today announced that on Feb. 28, 2011, it will redeem the entire outstanding $200 million principal amount of unsecured 6.0 percent Senior Notes, Series B, due 2032, at a redemption price equal to 100 percent of the principal amount, plus accrued interest thereon to the date of redemption.
