Electrical Safety Education
AEP offers a variety of electrical safety resources to help educate students and adults learn about electrical safety.
Safety Booklets featuring Louie the Lightning Bug® are available free to teachers and youth leaders who work with children in grades K-4 in the AEP Service Territory. Fill out the order form. Orders from outside our service territory will not be filled.
Students of all ages will enjoy a visit to the Electric Universe website. Subjects include: safety rules; learning activities; educational games and videos; energy conservation; electrical facts about animals, the weather and the environment, the human body and astronomy; experiments; electrical generation and transmission; biographies of inventors and scientists; and career information. Just for Teachers
School educators are encouraged to visit Just for Teachers and register for access to information and resources including Louie the Lightning Bug® Teacher Kits for grades K -2 and grades 3 - 4. Each kit contains reproducible teacher information, student lessons, tests and activity sheets.
