Indiana Michigan Power Contributions
The employees of Indiana Michigan Power are committed to the communities and residents where we generate and distribute power. Our commitment to you extends beyond the responsibility of providing reliable electricity. Why? Because we are your neighbors; we live and work in the same communities and want to do our part to help the area prosper.
Whether it's a line mechanic building a house for Habitat for Humanity, a Cook Plant nuclear engineer volunteering at the United Way Day of Caring or a Rockport Plant unit operator helping with a food drive, all of the 2,400 men and women of Indiana Michigan Power light up the lives of others in a special way.
I&M's giving philosophy emphasizes education, economic development, the environment and quality of life, all focused on improving the communities we serve. We recognize that our communities must be vibrant and thriving to attract and retain successful businesses as well as the talented individuals necessary to lead them.
In 2014 alone, Indiana Michigan Power contributed more than $1.2 million of financial support to Indiana non-profit and Economic Development agencies, and more than $1.1 million within our Michigan footprint.
In addition, the American Electric Power Foundation contributed just over $600,000 throughout our service area to agencies that serve in the areas of STEM Education, Human Services, Arts and Culture and the environment.
We are proud to be a part of our local communities and are dedicated to provide our customers with safe, reliable and affordable power.
