Appalachian Power

Dear Friends,

The Appalachian Power family of more than 3,000 employees is committed to providing our customers with safe and reliable service. Our employees are also your friends and neighbors and are dedicated to serving in your communities to enrich lives and make your neighborhoods better places to live and grow.

Although the pandemic brought many challenges this year, we did not let it deter us from giving back.

Through the AEP Foundation, we gave $2.4 million in grants to support programs that improve education and help meet basic needs for shelter and food. When communities experienced additional needs due to the pandemic, we were there to help by providing funding to United Way to secure face masks for staff and clients, resources to replenish food banks and grants to create wi-fi hotspots at schools and community centers.

Our employees also continued to look for opportunities to give back. A highlight of the year was our celebration of 20 years of Read to Me Day. While COVID-19 restrictions did not allow us to visit classrooms and read to students in person as we normally would, employees recreated the program by providing a series of read aloud videos for our valued educators that can be viewed by students in the classroom or online.

As we do every year, we also assisted at food pantries and held food drives, helped make the holidays brighter for children with toy drives, and worked every day in all our communities to make a difference in our own individual ways.

Our Appalachian Power family values the opportunity to serve and help make our communities a better place to live and work.
