AEP recogized as climate leader in carbon disclosure project´s 4th survey of corporate approaches to climate change

American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) was named to the “Climate Leadership Index” in a report released today by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a coalition of global investors with more than $31.5 trillion in assets. The CDP report is a survey of the responses of FT500 corporations to the issue of climate change.

AEP foundation helps fund reforestation and conservation in Guatemala
$2 million contribution part of Central America and Mexico Hurricane Relief Fund effort

The American Electric Power Foundation today announced a $2 million donation to fund reforestation and conservation of approximately 22,500 acres of forestland in Guatemala. The donation is part of the AEP Foundation’s support of the Central America and Mexico Hurricane Relief Fund, a public-private partnership to encourage financial donations for reconstruction in Central America and Southern Mexico following the devastation of the 2005 hurricane season. The AEP Foundation is funded by American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) and AEP’s utility units.
