AEP Subsidiary Public Service Company of Oklahoma to Redeem Senior Notes

COLUMBUS, Ohio, November 20, 2009 – Public Service Company of Oklahoma, a public utility subsidiary of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP), today announced that on December 21, 2009, it will redeem the entire outstanding $150,000,000 principal amount of unsecured 4.85% Senior Notes, Series C, due September 15, 2010, at a redemption price equal to 100% of the principal amount, plus accrued interest thereon to the date of redemption, and a make-whole premium which will be determined three business days prior to the redemption date.

Notice of the redemption is expected to be mailed November 20, 2009. The redemption is in accordance with the terms of the indenture under which the Senior Notes were issued.

The Bank of New York Mellon is the redemption agent and trustee.
