Executive Chairman, Equinix
Charles Meyers has served as Executive Chairman of Equinix since June 2024 after serving as President and Chief Executive Officer from 2018 to 2024 and as a member of the Board of Directors since 2018. During his tenure as CEO, he strengthened Equinix's position as a leading global digital infrastructure company by doubling its global data center footprint, strengthening its ecosystem of leading enterprise customers and quadrupling revenues. Earlier, he served as President, Strategy, Services and Innovation, Chief Operating Officer and President of the Americas. Prior to joining Equinix, Mr. Meyers held executive leadership roles at Verisign, Level 3 Communications and BellSouth.
Mr. Meyers' qualifications to serve on the Board include his deep expertise in digital infrastructure, technology and large-scale operations. Having led one of the world's leading digital infrastructure companies through a period of extraordinary growth, he brings direct insight into the enterprise customers and infrastructure needs shaping electricity demand. His experience building and operating critical infrastructure at global scale provides valuable perspective as AEP invests to support load growth while maintaining its focus on reliability and affordability.
