Alex Ramirez currently serves as interim president and chief operating officer of AEP Texas.
Before leading the company in an interim role, he was vice president, Distribution Operations. Prior to leading Distribution Operations, he was vice president of Customer Experience for AEP Texas and was responsible for project management, continuous improvement, advanced metering infrastructure, distributed energy resource technologies and all customer-facing departments including community and governmental affairs.
Ramirez has 19 years of experience with the company. He has held leadership positions at AEP Texas for Region Support in Corpus Christi, Customer Design in the Rio Grande Valley District, Distribution Operations for the San Angelo District and Regulatory in Austin.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Master of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. He also completed a post-graduate program in Data Science and Business Analytics at The University of Texas at Austin.
