Job Description

What you’ll do:

This position will support the OH/I&M Transmission Planning teams. The Planning Coordinator is expected to support the area planners by:

  • Assisting in creating projects in PeopleSoft IRR.
  • Provide conceptual project financial forecasts in Ecosys.
  • Help the coordination of project submission to PJM via the M3 Process.
  • Co-facilitate project engagement meetings in OH/I&M as applicable.
  • Assist in completing project scopes as necessary.
  • Coordinate station asset creation for new and ongoing projects.
  • Track projects and update attributes in different systems of record as needed.
  • Assist in preparing state/regulatory filings as needed.
  • Create and develop ad hoc Planning reports as requested.
  • Ability to coordinate work activities within the immediate team, other teams in Transmission or those external to the company including contractors, vendors as required to resolve routine technical tasks and field work activities.
  • Perform varied assignments demonstrating technical knowledge and analytical techniques to solve problems or analysis.
  • Participate in the planning and organization of project work activities. 
  • Make decisions and contribute to team decision making and consensus building.

What we’re looking for:

Coordinator Associate SG5

Education/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university or college
  • Or an Associate's degree with 2 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.

Coordinator SG6

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university or college
  • Or an associate's technical degree and 3 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.

Experience:

  • Typically requires a minimum of three years of experience in work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge.

 Coordinator Senior SG7

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university or college
  • OR an associate's technical degree and 6 years of experience in Design, operations, planning, construction of systems and/or equipment
  • OR 10 or more years of experience in Design, operations, planning, construction of systems and/or equipment

Experience:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge.

Coordinator Principal SG8

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university or college
  • Or an Associate's technical degree and 10 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.

Experience:

  • Typically requires 10 or more years of experience in work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge.

Required License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Must possess a professional or trade certification such as a CCMP, CETa, IQCP, PMP, etc. before the progression into this level.

In addition:

  • Must be available to work overtime, call out overtime and shift work, as required. Travel requirements are expected <5 % of the time.
  • Physical demand level is Sedentary.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Listen and identify customer needs/wants.
  • Effectively communicate with team, management, customers, contractors, vendors and regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of AEP's general terms and conditions.
  • Apply problem solving skills to resolve technical problems and initiate solution techniques.
  • Demonstrate an attitude and desire to listen to and satisfy both internal and external customers who use and depend upon our work.
  • Position may require extended hours to accomplish assigned tasks and meet project requirements and schedules.

Compensation Range:

$63,496.00 - $151,132.50

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
