On June 17, the Black Employee Resource Group (BERG) celebrated Juneteenth with an event hosted at AEP's Transmission Headquarters in New Albany, Ohio. The event featured a vendor marketplace that allowed guests to sample and purchase items from local black-owned businesses and a musical performance from Mamady Mansaré III of the African Cultural Arts Institute.
"Planning and being involved in the Juneteenth event gives you an opportunity to honor the resiliency of our ancestors while creating space to educate, celebrate and connect within our community," said BERG co-chair, Checobia Crawford.
