COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 27, 2025 – American Electric Power, on behalf of its subsidiary Kentucky Power, is seeking proposals from bidders to construct, operate and maintain a natural gas pipeline lateral and associated natural gas facilities (collectively, the “Gas Facilities”) to the Big Sandy Natural Gas Project (“Plant”) located in Louisa, Kentucky. These Gas Facilities will be utilized to supply the Plant with natural gas as the primary fuel source. Offers of mainline firm transportation capacity is also being sought as part of the proposal package.
Notice of intent to bid must be received by Kentucky Power on or before Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025. Proposal packages are due no later than 5 p.m. EST, Oct. 15, 2025, and should be submitted via email to aepfuelsrfp@aep.com. More information can be found here. RFP Summary
