AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 25, 2001 - C3 Networks (C3) announced today the addition of James (Jim) Morris as manager of technical support for C3’s sales organization. Morris is well known as an industry innovator and has been involved in many recent leading edge products.

Morris helped solidify the industry’s wholesale offerings for DSx and OCx product suites and was instrumental in deployment of the first commercial optical wavelength product. He was influential in launching the first long haul Ethernet service to the market providing customers the advantage of faster service, more bandwidth, instant provisioning and incremental billing. Additionally, Morris has been a pioneer participant in the early stages and growth of bandwidth trading in the carrier market.

“Jim’s years of experience with private line and OC products are a perfect fit with our customer’s requirements. His product development experience, technical knowledge and leadership are an asset to our sales team,” said Leo Welsh, vice president of sales for C3 Networks.

Morris has more than 14 years of sales, marketing, product development and management experience. Morris comes to C3 from Broadwing Communications, where he was director of product management for private line and colocation services. Prior to that, he was XDSL product manager for UUNET Technologies. Morris’ background in launching new products for the telecommunications industry includes technology selection, sales strategy and training, customer service, marketing, and integration of internal systems and departments to enhance product support. Morris also has provided consulting for a large consortium of energy companies in the market development of metro pooling points to support long haul bandwidth trading. Morris holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing management from Virginia Tech.
