COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 10, 2006 – American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) has scheduled a live webcast of a presentation by Susan Tomasky, executive vice president and chief financial officer, March 16 at the Morgan Stanley Global Electricity & Energy Conference in New York.

The presentation to an audience of investors, scheduled for 3:45 p.m. EST, can be accessed through the Internet at http://www.aep.com/go/webcast and also will be available after the live event.

During the conference, which runs March 15-16, AEP will reaffirm its ongoing earnings guidance of $2.50 to $2.70 per share for 2006.
