Sofidel, an Italy-based paper tissue manufacturer, held a groundbreaking ceremony on March 16, 2018 for its integrated paper production plant in Inola, Oklahoma. The project, which will locate in the AEP-owned Inola River Rail Industrial Park, includes the construction of a 1.8-million square foot plant that will support 300 jobs. The company investing $360 million over three years.

PSO worked collaboratively with fourteen economic development partners, including utility companies, tribal nations, and state & federal agencies to establish the incentives and infrastructure needed to support the project. Sofidel’s investment is the type of high-impact project we hoped and expected to attract when we made the Inola River Rail Industrial Park available for economic development.

With easy access by highway, rail and the Verdigris River Navigation Channel, the Inola River Rail Industrial Park, located 15 miles east of Tulsa, is primed to bring even more jobs and investment to northeast Oklahoma. 1,100+ acres, including a large portion certified by McCallum Sweeney Consulting, are still available for development.

This is the second U.S. greenfield investment by Sofidel, the first also is AEP-served in Circleville Ohio.
