Giving back is foundational to AEP's commitment to our communities. We aim to support and play an active, positive role in the communities where our customers and employees live and work.
For over a hundred years, we have been lighting the way for families to grow and businesses to prosper in communities across Appalachia, the Midwest and the Southwest. We strengthen that legacy of service by investing time and money in key areas that will help communities thrive which include supporting education, and basic needs (food and housing), promoting and protecting the environment and encouraging civic vitality.
Through these investments, we aim to enrich lives, connect with community partners, support healthier families, and make our economies stronger and the future brighter for those we serve.
Our employees are committed to showing up all year long through volunteerism. We are passionate about helping AEP establish a visible presence in our communities by rolling up our sleeves to help build affordable, energy-efficient homes, participating in local cultural parades, coaching youth sports teams and tutoring students in math, science and reading.
AEP employees connect with communities across our footprint to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Our employees and their family members are dedicated to feeding those in need in our communities. Their work includes preparing food, serving meals and partnering with local food pantries to tackle hunger.
Our communities value education, and AEP volunteers make access to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) a priority.
We support many organizations across our footprint, through grants and other charitable contributions.
