AEP Ohio Files Settlement Agreement On Expanded PPA Agreement provides price stability, supports economic development, adds significant environmental commitments

AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power filed today with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) a stipulated agreement in support of the company's expanded Purchase Power Agreement (PPA). The agreement will be signed or unopposed by 11 parties, including the PUCO staff, Sierra Club, Ohio Partners for Affordable Energy, Ohio Energy Group, Ohio Hospital Association, Mid-Atlantic Renewable Energy Coalition, as well as three competitive retail energy suppliers.

AEP Names McCord Vice President Safety & Health

American Electric Power has named Natalie J. McCord vice president, Safety & Health, effective Dec. 19. McCord will report to Lisa Barton, AEP's executive vice president, Transmission, who oversees AEP's Safety & Health program. McCord is replacing Ken Frazier who retired from the company at the end of October.

Appalachian Power Seeks Solar Energy Proposals In Virginia

Appalachian Power has issued pre-qualification documents for parties interested in bidding on an up-coming Request for Proposal (RFP) for up to 10 megawatts alternating current (MWac) of ground-mounted solar energy resources located in Virginia. The RFP will seek proposals that allow Appalachian either to own one or more solar projects or purchase such solar projects' output under one or more 20-year renewable energy purchase agreements.

AEP Names Joel Gebbie To Lead Cook Nuclear Plant

Joel P. Gebbie has been named senior vice president and chief nuclear officer of American Electric Power's Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant (Cook) in Bridgman, Mich., effective Jan. 1, 2016. Gebbie is currently site vice president at Cook, a dual-unit nuclear site with a total generating capacity of 2,150 megawatts.

AEP Increases Quarterly Dividend To 56 Cents A Share

The Board of Directors of American Electric Power Co. today declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 56 cents a share on the company's common stock, increasing the dividend 5.7 percent from the previous 53 cents a share. AEP last increased its dividend in October 2014.
