What You'll See
"Big Muskie" was the largest dragline ever built. From 1969 to 1991, it moved 483 million tons of rock and soil. A key installation of the Miner's Memorial Park is the 220-cubic-yard, 240-ton bucket from Big Muskie. You'll also see the "Wall of Honor," listing the names of employees of Central Ohio Coal Company, which operated Big Muskie. The park's structural facilities are made from 50-year-old red oak trees planted by miners on reclaimed land.
